Stoneware is a term given to High Fired Ceramics( at least 2100`F). I fire all my stoneware between 2200`F and 2400`F. Stoneware covers the whole spectrum of wares in this category. I use Iron (red) bearing Stoneware clay bodies as well as White non-Iron bearing bodies. A single glaze will look different when applied over a white fired piece then it will look over a red fired piece. I enjoy the challenges of working in Stoneware and will continue to spend a lifetime devoted to it. All Stoneware is dishwasher and microwave safe.
